Position Summary
Steel Fixers are responsible for preparing, positioning, and securing steel reinforcement bars and mesh used in concrete structures. They work closely with engineers, supervisors, and construction teams to ensure all reinforcement work meets safety standards and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret construction drawings and reinforcement schedules.
- Measure, cut, and bend steel bars to the required specifications.
- Install and secure reinforcing steel bars and mesh.
- Tie rebar using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Position steel reinforcement before concrete pouring.
- Inspect completed reinforcement work for accuracy.
- Follow site safety regulations and procedures.
- Coordinate with supervisors and other construction workers.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and handling steel materials.
Required Qualifications
